Rare Jugendstil ceiling light in porcelain

Ref: 000391

1200 euros

Superb and unique Jugendstil porcelain ceiling light with a striking relief. It has five lights, four at the corners and the middle one on a higher level. Four holes in the porcelain to fix it on the ceiling but it could also be used as an outstanding wall light. The association of square and round shapes, black and white colours, and the delicate sleek decor of the black lines are typical of the Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau). It is marked at the back with a blue shape of a star, yet to be identified. Attributed to Peter Berhens.
