Rare 19th century French finial

Ref: 000433

800 euros

Rare XIXth century French finial, Viollet-le-Duc era and style, pre-1880. Outstanding work of art made of zinc and lead probably from a stunning folie or little castle, troubadour style, typical from the Anjou region but also found in Ile de France and Normandy regions. Four leafed clover motif symbolising luck and fortune, beautifully carved in a thick metal sheet which has aged beautifully to offer this patina. A unique quirky decorative piece which can be used outdoor again or find its place indoor with a natural or artificial light to display it to its best. Superb!

Dim.: 70 cm diagonal - width 45 cm
